Overview
A coil quotation needs both material and handling requirements. Specify 1050 alloy, the required temper and the governing flat-product standard; the alloy designation alone does not establish forming behavior or the final properties. State nominal thickness, thickness tolerance, width tolerance, edge condition and surface acceptance. If the coil will be slit or formed, describe the downstream process and restrictions on burrs or handling marks.
Add inside diameter, maximum outside diameter, coil weight limits and any winding-direction requirement so the proposed coil can be checked against the uncoiler. State whether joints are permitted and how they must be identified. Define protective film, interleaving, moisture protection and storage conditions where relevant. Agree inspection documents, lot identification, quantity, destination and packing orientation with the order. A different alloy or temper is a separate proposal; the same nominal thickness is not enough to establish interchangeability.
