Why finish codes matter
Grade alone does not define a stainless delivery. A 304L coil quoted as 2B is not the same commercial product as BA or HL. Wrong finish creates rework, reject risk, and disputes after arrival.
Common finishes
| Finish | Typical use | Buyer note |
|---|---|---|
| 2B | Coil/sheet general fabrication | Default cold-rolled finish for many RFQs |
| BA | Bright decorative / appliance | Needs extra surface protection in packing |
| No.1 | Hot-rolled plate | Common for thicker plate |
| HL | Architectural polish | Directional grain; confirm visual sample |
RFQ wording
